Men's Volleyball Sweeps Olivet

Box Score OLIVET, Mich. - The Benedictine University men's volleyball team concluded their Michigan trip with a sweep of Olivet College on Saturday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine trailed 3-0 to start the first set. After a timeout the Eagles rallied to tie it at 13 and would never lose the lead again en route to a 25-19 win
• Trailing early again in the second set the Eagles went on a 4-0 run and tallied 16 kills for a .464 hitting percentage to win the second set 25-14
• Down 8-5, Benedictine went on a 14-0 run to take a 19-8 lead. The Eagles recorded 15 kills while holding Olivet to just six kills for the 25-14 third set victory

THE STATS
• As a team, the Eagles tallied a season high .395 hitting percentage with 48 kills, 43 digs and three team blocks
• Sterling Glover led all players with 17 kills and only had four errors (.565 attack percentage)
• Dan Gibadlo recorded six kills and hit .500 in the match
• Jake Moran had four kills while Markus Riemer recorded 42 assists and four aces
• Jonathan Valentini had 15 digs

FROM THE COACH
"We were focused on goals we set for ourselves this weekend and hit most of them," said head coach Dan Buehring. "We are looking forward to working hard this week in practice to earn a win on Friday. The guys are working their butts off and having a good time doing it. I'm excited to see what they do next week!"

UP NEXT
The men's volleyball team, now 14-7 overall and 8-2 in MCVL play, travel to #7 Dominican University on Friday, March 18 for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
