Softball Splits Day Three in Florida

THE STATS
• Benedictine was up 5-0 after the top of the second inning, but allowed Bowdoin to tally six runs in the bottom of the frame
• Breanna Sobotka recorded two hits while scoring one run with one RBI
• Holly Haberkorn received the loss for the Eagles, allowing seven hits, five walks with two strikeouts in six innings

THE STATS
• Melissa Stoch tallied a two-run homer in the first inning, also scoring Sobotka who singled to lead off the inning
• The Eagles tallied two more runs in the third that saw hits from Shannon Fritsche and Kailee Cable
• Benedictine secured the win in the bottom of the fourth when Angie Malsack led off the inning with a double followed by a Kelli Holstine single. Two runs scored on a Platteville error and Stoch recorded her second homerun of the game to put BenU on top 8-0
• Melissa Guzior picked up the win, allowing six hits with four strikeouts in five innings

UP NEXT
The Benedictine softball team, now 4-2 overall, have an off-day on Monday but will play two games on Tuesday. The Eagles first take on University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at 8:00 am CST followed by a 10:00 am CST game against North Central College.
