Men's Lacrosse Slides Past Huntingdon

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team kicked off spring break action by edging past Huntingdon College in St. Louis after rallying from down five goals.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine fell behind early, trailing 4-0 in the first quarter and chasing a 7-2 deficit early in the second
• Benedictine responded with a long scoring run, netting eight consecutive goals to open a 10-7 advantage
• Dell Hune opened the scoring run with an unassisted tally
• The run stretched from the second quarter into the third
• Benedictine held a 12-8 edge headed into the fourth and was able to hold off a late charge

FROM THE COACH
"Luckily, we were able to overcome our slow start today and come up with the victory," head coach Guy Bourdon said. "While I wasn't pleased that we dug ourselves into a hole, I was impressed with the resiliency of the team. Hopefully we'll show more consistency in the next few games."

• Corbin Gett finished with four goals and two assists
• Hune notched four goals and an assist
• Tony DePinto struck for a pair of goals and an assist as did Ryden Scarnato while Matthew Johnson produced three assists
