AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Four runs came across in the top of the eighth inning to enable Grinnell College to hand the Benedictine University baseball team a third consecutive defeat.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second
• Frank Greco was hit by a pitch and stole second before Kyle Bock singled home the game's first run
• Grinnell came back with a pair of runs in the top of the third to take the lead
• Benedictine tied the score in the bottom of the sixth
• Chayancze Stirbis drew a walk, moved up on an error, and scored on a wild pitch
• Benedictine grabbed the lead again at 3-2 in the seventh
• With two outs, Erik Callaghan singled and Stirbis followed suit before Brandon Gipson singled home the go-ahead run
• Grinnell took the decision by plating four in the eighth

STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine mustered just six hits in the contest, two from Stirbis
• Joe Palasiewicz suffered his first loss of the season, allowing four runs on eight hits in 7.1 innings

UP NEXT
Benedictine (4-4) has two games remaining on the trip and will face St. Norbert College on Thursday in the former spring training home of the Cleveland Indians
