RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team peppered Concordia University Chicago with 68 shots in a road conference victory Wednesday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
•
A solid first quarter set the tone as Benedictine cruised to the win
• Benedictine scored the first eight goals of the game as Corbin Gett scored in a man-up situation just over a minute into the game
• Four different individuals scored in the opening quarter of action
• Following the first goal from the hosts, Matthew Johnson capped the flurry on a feed from Jimmy Lopez in the final minute
• David Blanco scored off the opening faceoff of the second quarter as Benedictine scored six straight goals to take a 15-1 lead at halftime
• Reserves saw plenty of time in the second half as Benedictine used 33 players in the game and tallied just three goals in the half, all in the third quarter

Four different goalies played in the game with everyone recording a save
• Jeffrey Smitheram started and earned the win, stopping two shots
• Benedictine held a 68-27 edge in shots and a 44-18 margin in groundballs while completing 24-of-27 clears
• Jimmy Lopez, making his first appearance of the season, set a single game program record by distributing seven assists including five in the opening quarter
• Tony DePinto led Benedictine with four goals and added two assists
• Eight different individuals scored in the game
