Softball Takes Two from Wisconsin Lutheran

The Benedictine University softball team tallied two more shutouts on the season, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College on the road.
 
GAME ONE
THE DETAILS
• Shannon Fritsche led the game off with a solo homerun, her first of the season
• Melissa Stoch would also score in the inning, going up 2-0
• After two scoreless innings, BenU tallied five runs in the fourth that included a two-RBI double from Kassee Johnson
• Up 7-0, the Eagles collected their final run in the sixth inning after a Holly Haberkorn RBI single
 
THE STATS
• Stoch was 3-4 with an RBI and run scored
• Jenna Boyajian, Haberkorn, Kelli Holstine and Johnson each had two hits
• On the mound, Haberkorn (9-4) allowed just five hits while striking out six
 
GAME TWO
THE DETAILS
• In the second game, BenU took an early 4-0 lead after Fritsche led off the inning with a walk, followed by a Courtney Grasz single. Later in the inning, Haberkorn connected for her first homerun of the season, a grand slam to left field
• The second inning saw BenU take a 7-0 lead that included a two-RBI double from Kailee Cable and an RBI single from Stoch
• Brittany Clark drove in the final run of the game in the fifth inning
 
THE STATS
• Boyajian and Johnson were 2-3
• Haberkorn was 2-3 with four RBI
• Melissa Guzior tallied her 10th win of the year (10-5), giving up four hits with three strikeouts in five innings

Benedictine softball (19-9, 7-3 NACC) host Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday afternoon beginning at 12:00 pm at the Sports Complex.
