Tough First Half Halts Women's Lacrosse

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team finished a weekend of road contests with a loss to the University of Dubuque.

THE DETAILS
• Dubuque set the tone early and did not trail in the game
• The hosts scored twice in the first minute of the game
• Samantha Link collected the first goal for Benedictine with 27:26 to go in the first half
• Dubuque responded with four goals to take a 6-1 lead
• Link added two more goals to bring Benedictine within 6-3 before four more Dubuque goals pushed the lead to 10-3
• Dubuque held a 13-4 lead at halftime
• The teams traded goals in the second half with Benedictine outscoring the hosts 4-3, but the damage had been done
