Softball Advances to Championship Sunday

The Benedictine University softball team eliminated host Alma College on Saturday afternoon with a 6-0 shutout of the Scots.

THE SCORING DETAILS
• Benedictine took a 4-0 lead in the first inning after a Jenna Boyajian homerun, her first of the season, that scored Shannon Fritsche and Melissa Stoch who singled earlier in the inning
 • Fritsche also tallied a homer in the second inning, a two-run shot that scored Angie Malsack after singling to lead off the inning
 
THE STATS
• Fritsche was 3-4 with two RBI
• Boyajian was 3-3 with three RBI
• Benedictine tallied 13 hits in the game
• On the mound, Holly Haberkorn pitched a complete game and allowed just four hits

Benedictine will face Heidelberg at 10:00 am CST. The Eagles will have to beat Heidelberg twice to advance in the NCAA Tournament.
