LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University baseball team dropped a close one to Greenville College in a non-conference loss Friday night.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to a two out double by Justin Montalvo
• Greenville would answer with one run in the top half of the third
• The Eagles led off the bottom of the fourth with two singles by Kyle Bock and Sam Kerr
• Chayancze Stirbis brought home one run with a sacrifice fly to right field
• Nick Severino executed a bunt to score another run and stretch the lead to 4-1
• Greenville responded yet again with three runs in the top of the fifth, tying the game at 4-4
• The Panthers bullpen shut the door the rest of the way, holding the Eagles scoreless over the latter half of the game
• A leadoff home run in the top of the ninth by Greenville put them up for good 5-4
• Severino, Bock, and Montalvo each tallied two hits
• Jacob Trumpis and Will Diessner both had scoreless relief appearances

Benedictine (17-18) hosts Concordia University – Chicago for a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon starting at 3 p.m. This series will mark the end of conference play for the Eagles
