Women's Volleyball Completes Weekend in Bloomington

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team completed day two of the Illinois Wesleyan University Tournament in Bloomington, IL. The Eagles fell to Rose-Hulman before defeating Simpson College in straight sets.

• Claudia Schmidt led BenU with seven kills and two aces
• Right behind her was Erin Wiegand with six kills
• Kelcey Adams recorded 16 assists and seven digs
• Defensively, Kristina Billie led the Eagles with 22 digs while Caitlyn Martin had nine digs

STAT LEADERS
• Leading the way for the Eagles on offense was Emily Chitwood with eight kills
• Kara Epping had seven kills and Wiegand tallied six kills
• Adams tallied 19 assists and six aces
• Vanessa Possidoni also had six aces with seven digs
• Billie once again led BenU with 16 digs

ALL-TOURNAMENT
• Billie was selected to the All-Tournament Team

Benedictine, now 4-5 overall, play their home opener against Alverno College on Tuesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sports Complex.
