THE DETAILS
• Benedictine lost all three sets by just two points
• The Eagles led the entire first set, up 24-18, but let Dominican rally and collect six straight points to tie it up
• Dominican would go on to tally 19 kills in the first set, including six in the final 10 points, to win 29-27
• In the second set, two DU aces put the Eagles down early but an Erin Wiegand kill would give BenU the lead
• The teams would trade points until two Caitlyn Martin aces put BenU on top 22-21
• Dominican would not trail for long as a kill from Alex Kisten tied it up and the Stars would go on to win 25-23
• The Stars took an early lead in the third set but would allow BenU to go on a 3-0 run that included a Vanessa Possidoni ace to tie it at 22

FROM THE COACH
"I thought that the opening set was key to the entire match," said head coach Jennifer Wildes. "We led 90 percent of the set and let it slip away. That changed the match for us. Even though we only lost by two points each set, we felt like we were down and chasing them the whole night."

UP NEXT
Benedictine, now 6-7 overall and 1-1 in NACC action, hosts the NACC/IIAC Crossover Challenge this weekend. The Eagles take on University of Dubuque at 1:00 pm and Central College at 5:00 pm in the Rice Center on Friday evening.
