The Benedictine University women's volleyball team played their final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match of the season, battling to four sets with second seeded Aurora University on Tuesday night in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

Benedictine 1, Aurora 3 (16-25, 18-25, 25-23, 23-25)

• Benedictine trailed early in the first set and allowed Aurora to go on a 5-0 run that led to a 25-16 loss
• In set two, the Spartans took the lead after four straight aces for the 25-18 win
• The Eagles did not give up, taking a 4-1 lead in the third set after a Ryanne Ehrman ace
• Taylor Dunwell served up five straight for BenU to take a 12-4 lead
• Aurora continued to chip away at the lead and tied it at 23
• The Spartans tallied two attack errors at the end to give BenU the 25-23 win
• Despite BenU taking an early lead, Aurora went on a 5-0 run to start the fourth set
• The Eagles tried desperately to battle back, tying the set at 20 on a Lauren Wieber kill
• A Taylor Dunwell ace put BenU up 23-20 but AU tallied three straight to tie it
• The Aurora offense proved to be too much, ending the match with back-to-back kills for the win

Women's volleyball hosts the annual Eagle Classic this weekend in the Rice Center. The Eagles take on Carthage College at 4:00 p.m. followed by an 8:00 p.m. match against Finlandia on Friday night. On Saturday, BenU hosts Elmhurst at 10:00 a.m. and MSOE at 12:00 p.m.
