LISLE, IL - Three goals in under three minutes led the Benedictine University men's soccer team to a conference tournament win over visiting Marian University for the second time in a week in a tense contest to reach the semifinals.

• Benedictine could not find a way to beat the Marian keeper early in the first half
• Benedictine peppered the first seven shots, five of which were on target
• The opening 45 minutes did not result in a goal
• Santiago Beltran and
Carlos Gallardo each put shots on target in the first two minutes of the second half but still could not score
• Marian scored the first goal of the match in the 69th minute on a hesitation following a cross
• With time running down, perhaps on the season,
Erik Stammer headed home the equalizer on a cross from
Nick Kapetanos in the 81st minute
• Kapetanos put Benedictine ahead with the game-winner in the 83rd minute, his 14th of the season
• Stammer put the game away with a trickler that rolled off the keeper and into the net in the 84th minute
• Three red cards were issued in the game, two for Benedictine, who finished with just nine on the field
• Benedictine, ranked third in the NCAA Regional poll, has now won seven consecutive contests
• Benedictine finished with an 18-8 advantage in shots
• Antonio Marti Polo finished with five saves in goal
• Stammer was involved in all three goals with two goals and an assist and also led the team with six shots
• Kapetanos posted a goal and an assist and finished with five shots, four on goal
