Volleyball Beats Alverno in Four

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team picked up another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win on Friday night, defeating Alverno College in four sets. The match kicked off homecoming weekend for the Eagles.

• In the first set, a Chelsi Blair ace broke a tie between the teams and the Eagles would never lose the lead again, winning 25-18
• In the second set, Molly Stock and Lauren Wieber combined for back-to-back kills as part of a 6-0 Eagle run to go up 8-2
• The Eagles tallied 11 kills en route to a 25-15 win
• Several BenU attack errors gave Alverno an early advantage in the third set
• Despite being down late in the set, Benedictine rallied and staged a major comeback but it wasn't enough as the Inferno would go on to win 25-23
• Benedictine led the entire fourth set, ending the match with three Kristina Billie aces
• The match is only Benedictine's second home contest in 18 games
• As a team, BenU connected for 48 kills and 52 digs
