Men's Volleyball Drops Home Opener

The Benedictine University men's volleyball team dropped their home opener to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League opponent, Dominican University, in straight sets on Friday night in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

THE DETAILS
• Dominican recorded three aces and 4.5 blocks in the first set, limiting the Eagles to just 10 kills and a .061 hitting percentage
• The Stars took the lead early in the set and even though Benedictine tied it at ten on a Lewis Stein kill, it wasn't enough as DU would go on to win 25-21
• The Dominican offense was on fire in the second set, tallying 19 kills and hitting .531 en route to a 25-19 win
• Dominican took a 13-11 third set lead followed by a 9-1 run while tallying 16 kills and holding the Eagles to just six kills for the 25-13 win

• The Eagles had two more digs than the Stars but DU tallied 10 blocks compared to Benedictine's four
 
UP NEXT
Benedictine, now 3-4 overall and 2-1 in MCVL action, travel to Dubuque, IA to take on Loras College on Friday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles are back home on February 11 when they host College of Mount St Joseph at 3:00 pm followed by a 7:00 pm match against North Central College.
