LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team won for the first time this season, and in the career of head coach Kaitlyn Liccion, by bettering visiting Trine University on Saturday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Emma Redfern opened the scoring on a feed from Jasmine Moreno at the 23:33 mark of the first half
• Trine responded with back-to-back goals to open a 2-1 lead
• A wild finish to the first half saw Benedictine notch three consecutive markers
• Madison Horan delivered on a feed from Becca Gullett to tie the game with 3:04 remaining
• Horan struck again with 1:35 left to put Benedictine ahead for good
• Trine netted the final goal of the half to pull within 4-3 and evened the contest early in the second half
• Redfern broke the tie thanks to a helper from Ries McCue with 26:26 left in the game
• Leading by just a goal midway through the second, Benedictine finished with three straight tallies to secure the win

• Benedictine held a 32-23 advantage in shots, notching 18 in the decisive second half
• Hannah Smith stopped 10 shots in net
• Gullett scored twice, added two assists, picked up 12 groundballs, and caused six turnovers
• Moreno also scored twice, adding an assist with six caused turnovers
• Horan led the team with four goals
• Lexie Orr did not score but posted three draw controls, two groundballs and three caused turnovers
