Softball Falls to #19 UW-Whitewater

The Benedictine University softball team dropped a 7-3 decision to #19 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday morning in Clermont, Fla.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine came close to scoring in the first after placing runners on first and second with no outs
• Whitewater took the lead in the bottom of the inning tallying five hits for the 4-0 lead
• A Kassee Johnson triple scored two runs to cut the BenU deficit in half in the second inning
• Shannon Fritsche doubled to tally the Eagles final run of the inning, scoring Johnson to make it 4-3
• The scoring continued in the bottom of the second for Whitewater, recording four hits for the final three runs of the game
• Benedictine recorded just six hits in the loss
