CANTON, NY - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team opened a weekend venture to New York by losing a back and forth battle with SUNY-Canton.

THE DETAILS
• Randy Patrick opened the scoring for Benedictine in the first minute of the game, converting on a turnover to net his seventh of the year on a feed from David Blanco
• SUNY-Canton responded with three straight to open a 3-1 edge halfway through the first
• Trevor Manzke opened the first of three straight goals for Benedictine with just 3:01 to go in the first
• Patrick scored again in a man-up situation to put Benedictine ahead 4-3 with 8:41 left in the second
• The hosts scored the final two goals to take a 5-4 lead into the break
• Manzke and Patrick scored the first two goals of the third to give Benedictine the lead for the final time
• SUNY-Canton responded with three in a row and scored twice in the final 1:21 to put the game away

• Benedictine held a 31-29 advantage in shots and a 42-40 margin in groundballs
• Sammie Sanko stopped 11 shots in net and collected eight groundballs
• Patrick scored four times on 10 shots to lead Benedictine
