Men's Volleyball Sweeps Wittenberg

The Benedictine University men's volleyball team moved to 8-7 in Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League action on Saturday night after defeating Wittenberg University in straight sets.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine never trailed in the first set, up 6-1 after back-to-back Kacper Mazurek and Lewis Stein blocks
• An Elijah Medlock ace sealed the 25-18 win for the Eagles
• Benedictine had only two attack errors in the first set and held the Tigers to a .107 hitting percentage
• Wittenberg got out to an early second set lead but the Eagles quickly tied it
• Two Nick Malak aces gave the Eagles a hefty advantage as they would go on to win 25-17
• Zach Loeding recorded four kills as BenU hit .409 in the set
• The Eagles trailed the entire third set but took their first lead at 20-19
• The Tigers led by three at match point 24-21 but a Mazurek kill kept BenU alive
• A Malak kill gave BenU the 26-25 advantage and an ace from Loeding sealed the 27-25 win
• As a team Benedictine recorded 40 kills and hit .392, their highest hitting percentage of the season
