Softball Splits With Rival Aurora

Benedictine University softball traveled to rival Aurora University on Wednesday afternoon, battling last year's regular season champion to a split.
 
THE FINAL – GAME ONE
Benedictine 2, Aurora 5
 
THE DETAILS
• After a scoreless first inning, Benedictine took a 1-0 lead on a Jenna Boyajian homerun
• Aurora took the lead in the third off of three hits and one BenU error
• In the fourth, Angie Malsack singled to score Boyajian who walked to lead off the inning
• That was the final scoring inning for the Eagles as AU would tally two more runs in the fifth for the 5-2 win

• It was the Spartans to take the lead in the second game with a run in the second
• The Eagles retaliated and tied the game after an Emily Moore homerun, the first of her career
• Benedictine took the lead in the fourth after Courtney Grasz and Haberkorn singled
• A Malsack RBI sac fly gave BenU the lead as they would go on to win 2-1
