Softball Sweeps Wisconsin Lutheran

The Benedictine University softball team swept Wisconsin Lutheran College in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The wins moved Benedictine to 20-8 overall and 10-2 in conference play.
 
THE FINAL – GAME ONE
Benedictine 10, Wisconsin Lutheran 4
 
THE DETAILS
• Benedictine took a 5-0 lead in the first off of six hits
• Kassee Johnson and Courtney Grasz singled and Holly Haberkorn and Jenna Boyajian both doubled to score runs
• Emily Moore drove in two more runs and Breanna Sobotka doubled to score the final run of the inning
• Haberkorn started a three-run third inning for the Eagles with a homerun to center field, her third of the year
• Boyajian, Angie Malsack and Moore also singled in the inning
• Brittany Clark drove in the third run of the inning, a sac fly to right field
• Up 8-0, WLC scored three runs off of four hits and two BenU errors in the fourth
• The Eagles answered back with a run in the fourth on a Selena Kweder RBI single
• Johnson tallied her second homerun of the year in the sixth inning to take a 10-3 lead
• The Warriors tried to rally in the seventh, scoring a run, but it wasn't enough as Benedictine would go on to win 10-4
• Benedictine tallied 13 hits as a team

THE DETAILS
• Again, the Eagles took the lead in the first
• Shannon Fritsche singled and scored on a Courtney Grasz homerun, her fourth of the year
• Haberkorn doubled and was driven in by a Sobotka single
• In the second, Kelli Holstine and Johnson singled
• Grasz picked up her third RBI of the game with a sac fly
• Wisconsin Lutheran tallied a run off of two hits and a BenU error in the fourth
• The Warriors cut their deficit in half in the sixth with another run but it would be the last time either team would score for the rest of the game
