Softball Splits at MSOE

The Benedictine University softball team split a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader with Milwaukee School of Engineering on Monday afternoon in Milwaukee, WI.
 
THE FINAL – GAME ONE
Benedictine 7, MSOE 2
 
THE DETAILS
• Benedictine took the lead in the top of the second inning after a Shannon Fritsche two-run homer to center field
• MSOE cut their deficit in half in the bottom of the frame with a run off of three hits
• In the fifth, Courtney Grasz drove in Breanna Sobotka who singled earlier in the inning
• The Raiders scored their final run of the game in the fifth
• Benedictine secured their victory in the seventh inning, scoring four runs, including a three-run double from Emily Moore

Fritsche: 2-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI
Angie Malsack: 2-4, 1 RBI
Moore: 1-4, 1 run, 3 RBI

THE DETAILS
• The Raiders maintained a 4-0 lead heading into the sixth, scoring four runs off of four hits and two BenU errors
• In the sixth, Malsack and Sobotka led off the inning with walks
• Kelli Holstine drove in the first run of the game for the Eagles followed by a Selena Kweder RBI
• Fritsche's double down the left field line scored the final run of the game as BenU would fall 3-4
