Frank Greco suffered his first loss of the year in the opener

• Benedictine held a brief 4-3 lead in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Severino, but the hosts responded with two in the bottom of the inning and padded the lead with three insurance tallies in the eighth
• Game two saw Concordia Chicago rally from down 4-0 to notch a win with four runs in the last of the eighth
• James Wright made his return to the rotation, allowing just one run in six innings with two walks and six strikeouts
• Benedictine jumped ahead 4-0 by virtue of four runs in the third
• Sam Kerr logged a two-run single in the inning with
D.J. Dillon also posting an RBI single
• Benedictine chased the Concordia Chicago starter after just three innings but struggled against the bullpen, failing to post another baserunner until the seventh, leaving the bases loaded after the hosts scored a run in the sixth
• Concordia Chicago took advantage of a walk and a hit by pitch in the eighth, scoring four runs on just two hits to grab the advantage
• Benedictine, who has now dropped five in a row, left the tying run at second in the ninth

• Greco worked six innings in the opener and allowed five runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts

• Kyle Mitter tacked on two hits after coming in as a replacement
