The Benedictine University women's volleyball team could not overcome an early deficit, falling in their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opener to Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday night.

• Concordia Chicago entered the match on a five-game win streak
• Benedictine took a 6-3 lead in the first set after four straight points from Kristina Billie
• The Concordia offense came alive to take the lead and never look back
• The Eagles would only tally five kills in the set
• Concordia went on an 8-0 run in set two to take an early lead
• The Benedictine offense still struggled, tallying just six kills and a .000 hitting percentage
• Despite trailing early in the third set, Benedictine rallied back with three straight kills to tie it at 16
• The teams traded points until a CUC kill gave them match point
• Back to back kills from Lauren Wieber and Claudia Schmidt kept BenU in the game but the Eagles could not hold on, falling 25-23 in the third set

Women's volleyball, now 1-9 overall and 0-1 in NACC play, will compete in the annual Red and Black Triangular at North Central College on Friday night. The Eagles face Lake Forest at 6:00 p.m. and North Central at 8:00 p.m.
