Volleyball Competes at Red and Black Triangular

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team headed down the road to North Central College to compete in the annual Red and Black Triangular. The Eagles fell in a tough match to Lake Forest College and were forced to cancel their second match of the night due to unplayable floor conditions.

• Five straight points from Vanessa Possidoni gave Benedictine the 17-12 lead in the first set as the Eagles cruised to a 25-17 win
• In the second set, BenU took the lead after five straight from Kristina Billie
• A Lauren Wieber kill gave the Eagles a 23-20 advantage
• Three straight from Lake Forest tied it up and after trading points and an LFC ace and kill gave them the 29-27 win
• Lake Forest took a 5-0 third set lead and never looked back, holding BenU to a -.059 hitting percentage
• The fourth set saw both teams trade points early on
• The Forresters took a 13-9 lead with back to back aces
• Later in the set a Billie ace put BenU right back in the game to tie it at 14
• The Lake Forest offense caught fire later in the set for the 25-22 win
