Men's Volleyball Knocks Off #14 Marymount

The Benedictine University men's volleyball team tallied 53 kills and eight team blocks to knock off #14 ranked Marymount University on Saturday afternoon in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

• Benedictine got out to an early 9-6 lead in the first set and never looked back
• The Eagles hit .300 with 15 kills and held Marymount to a .179 attack percentage in the 25-20 victory
• In the second set, Benedictine struggled early offensively
• Marymount went on a 6-0 run late in the set to secure their 25-16 lead, holding BenU to just six kills in the set and a -.136 attack percentage
• After being tied at 22 in the third set, the teams traded points until a Zach Loeding kill on an MU overpass secured the 33-31 win
• Benedictine tallied 22 kills in the third set alone with just five errors and three blocks
• The Eagles trailed 16-14 in the fourth set after back-to-back Marymount kills
• Benedictine took an 18-17 lead after a Kyle VanStedum block
• Marymount tied it at 22 but fell behind after two errors
• Loeding secured the BenU victory with a solo block to end the match
• Adriel Rivas tallied a career high 17 kills
• The stats couldn't have been any closer with the Eagles tallying 53 kills, 47 assists, 47 digs and eight blocks
• Marymount ended the match with 54 kills, 49 assists, 45 digs and nine blocks
• Benedictine recorded two aces while Marymount had 10 aces but 17 service errors
