LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team knocked down 13 three-pointers to shoot past visiting Edgewood and move into sole possession of first place.

• Zach Gorney connected on a three-pointer to begin the contest and Benedictine did not trail in the game
• A second chance basket from Eric Grygo put Benedictine ahead 14-6 with 15:14 left in the half
• Edgewood came back to tie the contest 20-20 on a triple with 9:48 remaining in the half
• Jaquan Phipps converted on a three-point play, the third of the half, to spark a 10-0 run
• Kejuan Glosson drilled a three-pointer to make the lead 30-20 with 7:54 to play
• Benedictine led by as many as 13 points in the half and Brayden Olson made eight first-half field goals to net 22 in the first half
• Grygo opened a 9-0 run with another three-point play early in the second as Benedictine extended the advantage to 61-41
• Jens Soderholm caught fire in the second half, scoring 17 points
• A jumper from Soderholm midway through the second extended the lead to 86-61


• Benedictine shot 52.9 percent in the first half and 64.3 in the second to finish the game at 58.1 percent, just below the season high
• Benedictine has shot over 50 percent in the last six contests and is 5-1 in those games
• Benedictine made 13-of-21 three-point attempts and finished 16-for-20 from the stripe while holding a slim 35-34 advantage on the glass
• Olson finished with 31 points, his fourth 30+ showing of the year, and dished out nine assists
• Soderholm tallied 23 points, making 9-of-11 attempts from the field
• Grygo notched 13 points and seven rebounds


Benedictine (12-7, 11-3 NACC) hosts Rockford on Wednesday night.
