The #9 Benedictine University men's volleyball team traveled down the road to continue their non-conference schedule at North Central College on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles defeated the Cardinals in four sets.

Benedictine 3, North Central 1 (25-20, 23-25, 29-27, 25-19)

• Benedictine took an early 8-1 lead that included three points on kills from Nick Malak
• North Central would cut their deficit to four at 15-11 but the BenU offense was too much to handle, tallying 15 kills with a .419 attack percentage for the 25-20 lead
• It was North Central who would take an early lead in the second set as the Eagles could not find their rhythm
• Benedictine would eventually tie it at 20 but NCC responded with three straight points en route to a 25-23 win
• Both teams traded points the entire third set and it came down to the wire but after being tied at 27, a Malak kill and a Cardinal attack error gave BenU the 29-27 third set win
• The fourth set was all Benedictine, getting off to an early 3-0 lead after kills from Markus Riemer, Malak and an Adriel Rivas ace
• North Central would tie it at 17 but an Elijah Medlock kill sparked another 3-0 BenU run as the Eagles would go on to win 25-19

Benedictine, now 4-2 overall, continue their non-conference schedule with two matches on the road next weekend. The Eagles take on Augustana at 1:00 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. match against Greenville in Rock Island, IL.
