Volleyball Wins Final Conference Contest

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team won their final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest of the season, beating Illinois Institute of Technology 3-1 on Wednesday night in the Rice Center.

THE DETAILS
• The Eagles trailed early but quickly tied it up at six
• Kristina Billie served five straight to give the Eagles the lead as they would go on to win 25-14
• Benedictine hit .333 in the set with three aces
• The Illinois Tech defense came alive in set two, tallying seven blocks for the 25-21 win
• In set three, BenU took an early lead and never looked back, winning 25-15 with 11 kills
• The Benedictine defense held IIT to just six kills and a -.100 attack percentage in the fourth set, winning 25-21

Benedictine women's volleyball, now 15-10 overall and 7-5 in NACC action, will play their final two matches of the season on Saturday at the annual Eagle Classic. The Eagles play Elmhurst at 10:00 am and Wheaton at 12:00 pm.
