LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team used a 14-0 run to open the second quarter to pull away from visiting Concordia Chicago on Saturday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Trailing 5-2 early, Benedictine used a 9-0 run to open an 11-5 first quarter lead on a basket from Allison Michalski
• Benedictine did not score in the final 5:07 of the first but led 11-10 after one
• D'Asia Williams hit a three to open the second quarter and the run was finished on a free throw from Elisa Diorio, making the score 25-10 with 3:59 to play in the half
• Concordia Chicago was able to pull within nine, but Benedictine went into the half leading 29-17 after limiting the visitors to just one field goal in the second
• A three from Williams extended the advantage to 41-21 with 4:57 remaining in the third
• Casey Williams ignited a 10-0 run in the fourth with a jumper, capped by a pair of free throws from Michalski with 7:06 to go, making the score 62-34
• Benedictine led by 31 points in the final frame
• Benedictine held the lead for nearly 35 minutes of the contest

• The defense held Concordia Chicago to just 28 percent shooting while converting 24 turnovers into 21 points
• Alex Fanning led all scorers with 18 points, adding 15 rebounds in her fourth double-double
• Michalski netted 14 while Hanna Piro dished seven assists
