Eagles Sweep Marian

The Benedictine University men's volleyball team took care of business against Marian University on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Sabres in straight sets to move to 3-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.

• Markus Riemer set up Nick Malak for the kill on the first point of the set and the Eagles never lost the lead, defeating Marian 25-15
• In set two, BenU took a commanding 6-1 lead after four straight from Riemer
• Marian rallied back to tie it at 12 and the teams traded points until they were tied at 19 again
• Marian would not score another point as the Eagles went on a 6-0 run to win 25-19
• After a back and forth start to the third set, Joe Lock scored three straight to give BenU the lead
• A 4-1 run that concluded with an Adriel Rivas kill secured the 25-21 win for the Eagles
• Benedictine tallied a season high 13 blocks in the match
