LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team opened conference play with a home loss to Aurora.

• Nick Wood scored the first goal of the game, firing home his ninth of the year with 13:32 remaining in the first after a clear
• Aurora scored immediately and put together four straight goals to take the lead
• Corbin Gett pulled Benedictine within 4-2 on a feed from
Thomas Tillett early in the second
• Aurora responded with three consecutive goals to open a 7-2 lead
• David Blanco scored a man-up goal just before the half to make the score 7-3
• Gett struck with 9:15 left in the third in a man-up situation to give Benedictine a chance down 8-5 before Aurora countered with back-to-back goals
• The preseason favorites in the conference handed Benedictine a third straight loss by scoring twice for every one Benedictine mark in the final quarter
• Aurora held a 40-28 advantage in shots and a 48-34 edge in groundballs
• Benedictine converted on 20 clears
• Gett led the attack with three goals
• Blanco finished with a pair of goals while Tillett assisted on three
• Randy Patrick also notched two assists
• Sam Sanko stopped 15 shots in goal
