Softball Collects First Win in Florida

The Benedictine University softball team picked up their first win of the season, a 10-4 victory over Farmingdale State. Earlier in the day, the Eagles fell to Bethany 13-8.

• Against Bethany, Emily Moore tallied her first homerun of the season – the sophomore also went 2-4 with two runs and an RBI
• Jenna Boyajian was 3-3 with four RBI off of two doubles
• Also tallying a double was senior Courtney Grasz who was 2-4 with three runs and an RBI
• On the mound, Becky Karlinski received the loss, allowing 10 earned runs in 4.0 innings with two strikeouts
 
FARMINGDALE
• Nicole Parney picked up her first W of the 2018 season, allowing four earned runs with six strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched
• The Eagles collected 12 hits and eight RBI in the win
• Grasz and Boyajian were both 2-4
• Angie Malsack also had two hits and tallied two RBI
• Emily Chitwood was 2-3 with a run and an RBI
• Brittany Clark had a double and was 1-4 with two RBI and a run scored

Benedictine softball is back in action in Florida on Tuesday, March 20 when they face Hope College at 8:00 am CST followed by a 10:30 game against Calvin College.
