BELOIT, WI - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team opened the conference portion of the season with a road win at Beloit.

Benedictine 12, Beloit 8
• Beloit scored the first goal of the game with 23:43 left in the first half but did not lead again
• Madison Horan tied the game just over a minute later and a goal from
Victoria House put Benedictine ahead with 21:33 to go in the first
• Horan opened another string of three straight Benedictine goals with 17:07 remaining in the half as Benedictine opened a 6-2 lead and held a 6-4 halftime edge
• Emily Vellender and
Maria Trevino opened the second half with back-to-back goals as Benedictine led 8-4
• Beloit pulled within 10-7 with 12:33 to play but pulled no closer as Benedictine opened the conference slate with a win
• The shots for the contest were even with Beloit holding a 35-34 edge
• Emma Redfern halted 15 shots in cage including 11 in the first half
• Benedictine scooped 34 groundballs and notched 15 draw controls
• Horan scored four goals while House, Trevino and
Lexie Orr each scored twice
• Sam Tikalsky led the team with five groundballs and Orr notched 11 draw controls

Benedictine (2-1) will open the home portion of the schedule on Thursday afternoon against Indiana Tech.
