Men's Volleyball Advances to NACC Championship

The Benedictine University men's volleyball team advanced to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship after a sweep of Milwaukee School of Engineering on Thursday night in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

• The Eagles tallied 40 kills and just 8 errors in the match for a .427 attack percentage
• The defense had one of their best games as well, collecting 10 blocks and 28 digs
• The first set laid the momentum for Benedictine when, after trailing most of the set, the Eagles rallied back to tie it at 24 with a Nick Malak kill
• Malak delivered again to take the lead and an MSOE error sealed the Eagles 26-24 victory
• In set two, an Elijah Medlock kill gave BenU the lead and they cruised to a 25-18 win while tallying five blocks and 13 kills for a .600 attack percentage
• Despite the Raiders scoring the first point of the final set, a John Mathews ace put Benedictine up 6-4
• The blocking onslaught continued as Markus Riemer, Kyle VanStedum, Zach Loeding and Malak held the MSOE offense to just six kills in set three and a .-083 attack percentage
• Riemer served six straight at the end of the set to secure the 25-14 win

The #2 seeded Eagles will travel to River Forest, IL to take on #1 Dominican University on Saturday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. The winner wills serve as the NACC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
