LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team played as the visiting team on their home field but set single game highs for runs scored in a doubleheader sweep of Lakeland to improve to 6-0 in the NACC

• Benedictine did a bulk of the damage in the doubleheader with two outs
• Benedictine jumped on the board in the top of the first in the opener, setting the tone with three runs
• Jonathan Hodo led off the game with a double and scored on a two-out opposite field single from 
Sam Kerr
• Jack Surin extended the lead with a two-run double, scoring Kerr and 
Jimmy McLaughlin
• Six runs came across with two outs in the second to chase the starter and seize control of the opener
• Kerr and McLaughlin notched RBI singles while Surin was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and 
D.J. Dillon coaxed a bases loaded walk
• Tyler Woynerowski capped the rally with a single to drive home a pair
• Jack Feeley hit the first home homerun of the year leading off the top of the fifth
• Benedictine scored 11 of the 12 runs with two outs
• Ivan Guzman handled the rest on the mound, spinning his first career shutout by allowing only six hits in the shortened game to go with four strikeouts, improving to 2-0 on the year
• The second contest saw Benedictine score in seven consecutive innings in posting a season high 17 hits
• Woynerowski opened the scoring with a two-out opposite field double in the second
• Benedictine faced five different pitchers and put pressure on in every inning except the first
• Six runs scored with two outs, giving Benedictine 17 two-out runs in the doubleheader
• The 12 runs scored in each contest established a season high
• Alexander Schram twirled six innings, striking out seven to earn the win in the second contest
• The Benedictine pitching staff did not walk a batter in the entire doubleheader
• Benedictine received contributions from everyone who played in the doubleheader
• Surin drove home three in the opener
• Hodo, Feeley, Kerr and Surin all notched two hits
• McLaughlin finished with three hits
• Hodo scored three times and reached base four times
• Nine players notched hits in the second game led by three from Feeley, McLaughlin and 
Brandon Gipson
• Woynerowski knocked in three runs with Feeley and Surin adding two each
• Marty Maves finished out the win with two scoreless innings following a frame from 
Michael Santarelli

Benedictine (14-5, 6-0 NACC) will play two non-conference seven-inning games at the University of Chicago on Saturday to continue a busy stretch
