Baseball Swept by Aurora

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team was swept by visiting Aurora University in a conference doubleheader on Sunday

• Benedictine was able to grab the lead early in the first game
• Frank Greco twirled a perfect top of the first and Benedictine scored first in the bottom of the first
• Michael Chaffin tallied a one-out double and following a walk to Jack Feeley, scored on an RBI single from Sam Kerr
• Aurora tied the game in the top of the second and scored twice in the fourth and once in the fifth to lead 4-1
• Benedictine would rally, but Aurora responded each time
• Feeley logged a one-out double in the fifth and came around on a single from Kerr, making the score 4-2
• Jonathan Hodo reached on an error in the seventh and scored unearned on a Feeley groundout
• The late innings produced a lot of offense
• Down 5-3, Benedictine again drew within a run in the eighth on a Hodo RBI single
• Aurora broke the game open against the bullpen, scoring six times in the ninth to seal the win
• The visitors wasted no time in the second game, scoring three batters into the game and building a 4-0 lead with two runs in each of the first two innings
• The Benedictine bats struggled against the Aurora pitching, tallying just four hits in the game
• The lone run of the second affair came on a ninth inning double from Tyler Woynerowski, scoring Kerr

• Greco allowed four runs in six innings in the opener, taking the loss
• The offense rapped out 11 hits with three coming from Kerr, who also drove home a pair
• Woynerowski and Hodo posted two hits each
• Ryan Miller suffered his first loss in the second game, allowing four earned runs in six innings with four strikeouts
• Cameron Paladines tossed a scoreless seventh with Drake Berman working two scoreless
• Kerr reached in all four at bats in the second game with two hits, a walk, and a hit by pitch
