Softball Splits with MSOE on Senior Day

The Benedictine University softball team made a sixth inning comeback in the first game of a NACC doubleheader against Milwaukee School of Engineering after a two-run homer from Emily Chitwood to win 3-2. The Eagles fell in the nightcap, 6-1.

GAME ONE
• MSOE took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after a one-out homer
• The Raiders doubled their lead in the second inning after scoring one more run off of three hits
• Benedictine threatened in the third, tallying two hits but leaving two on base
• Angie Malsack saved another run from scoring in the sixth, throwing an MSOE runner out at home
• In the bottom of the frame, Emily Moore singled followed by an RBI double from Courtney Grasz
• Trailing by one, BenU's Chitwood came to plate and smacked a two-run homerun, her fifth of the season, to give BenU the 3-2 lead and victory

GAME TWO 
• MSOE was the first to score again in the second game, tallying two runs in the third
• The Eagles responded in the bottom of the frame after Breanna Sobotka singled and stole second
• Moore tallied an RBI single to put BenU within one
• That would be the final run for the Eagles though, as MSOE would score four more runs off of four hits for the 6-1 victory
