LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from visiting St. Norbert College on Thursday

• Benedictine fell behind in the opener after St. Norbert scored three times with two outs in the top of the first, two of which were unearned
• Benedictine began to chip away in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs
• Jack Feeley and
Michael Chaffin opened the game with back-to-back singles
• Following a double steal and a walk,
Jack Surin doubled deep to score a pair of runs
• Benedictine returned the unearned favor in the bottom of the second, taking the lead on RBI singles from Chaffin and
Jonathan Hodo after a two-out error
• Holding a 5-4 lead late, Benedictine scratched across two runs in the sixth to provide insurance, holding on for the win
• St. Norbert scored in the first inning of the second contest before Benedictine pushed across three runs in the bottom of the inning
• Another double from Surin scored two to put Benedictine ahead
• Tyler Woynerowski added an RBI single in the frame
• Benedictine scored in each of the first three innings to streak to a 6-2 lead
• The visitors were able to tie the game with four runs in the fourth
• Brandon Knox accounted for the win by logging a two-run single in the fifth to drive home

Benedictine (18-11, 7-5 NACC) welcomes Edgewood College on Saturday in one of the final home dates of the season. The senior class will be honored before the contest.
