LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team streaked to a doubleheader sweep over Edgewood to reach 20 wins on the year while celebrating the senior class

• A pitcher's duel in the opener, neither team scored until the sixth inning with two of the top hurlers in the conference dealing
• Kyle Mitter led off the sixth with a bunt single and
Jack Feeley was hit by a pitch
• A double steal placed runners at second and third
• Michael Chaffin knocked in the first run with a groundout while
Jonathan Hodo stretched the lead to 2-0 with a sacrifice fly
• Sam Kerr tripled with two outs and came around on a single up the middle from
Tyler Woynerowski to make the score 3-0
• The runs were more than enough for
Ryan Miller, who spun eight shutout innings
• Brenden Norberg made the score 4-0 with an infield single to plate
D.J. Dillon in the seventh
• Edgewood scored twice in the ninth, but
Marty Maves came in to close out the victory for his 10th save of the year
• Benedictine wasted no time in the second contest, scoring in the first
• Feeley led off the game with a double and scored when Hodo also doubled
• Edgewood tied the game in the second, but Benedictine answered with two in the bottom of the frame to turn momentum
• Woynerowski led off the inning with a single and scored on a throwing error with Chaffin lifting a sacrifice fly to score the other run
• The game broke open with a six-run third
• Benedictine notched only four hits in the inning, drawing four walks and a hit by pitch
• Matthew Rosko, Dillon and Feeley all singled home runs with Hodo adding a two-run single
• Benedictine shortened the game by putting another crooked number on the board in the fifth, scoring four times
• Rosko drove home two with a single in the inning while
Brandon Gipson added an opposite field RBI single
• Benedictine has now won four in a row
• Miller struck out nine and walked one in the opener, allowing just six hits while improving to 5-1 on the season
• Kerr and Woynerowski each recorded two hits in the game one victory
• Frank Greco worked the second game, striking out five in six innings to move to 4-3 on the year
• Frank Meisl made the most of his first outing of the year, striking out two in the seventh
• Hodo finished with three hits and three RBIs while Rosko tallied a pair of hits and three RBIs
• Benedictine collected 12 hits in the win
• Feeley also picked up two hits while
Jack Surin walked three times
