MONMOUTH, IL - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team capped a busy weekend with a loss at Monmouth

• Benedictine did not lead in the game as Monmouth scored the first three goals
• Jasmine Moreno put Benedictine on the board with an unassisted goal near the midpoint of the first half
• The teams traded goals for a few minutes before Monmouth closed the half with two straight to lead 7-3
• Both teams scored seven goals in the second half
• Benedictine received back-to-back goals from Madison Horan to pull within 10-7 at the 12:43 mark of the second
• Monmouth answered with two consecutive goals and led by as many as six in the second half before Moreno netted the final two goals to account for the score


• Benedictine held a 34-29 edge in shots, putting 26 on goal
• Moreno scored five goals in the defeat and added three groundballs
• Horan struck three times and added an assist with five draw controls while Maria Lewis scored the other two goals
• Maria Trevino tallied six draw controls
• Emma Redfern stopped nine shots in goal
