LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team finished the regular season with a home split against MSOE, officially securing a conference tournament slot.

• The first contest was a tight pitchers duel
• MSOE took a 1-0 lead with a second-inning leadoff solo homer
• Benedictine tied the game with two outs in the third

• Another two-out run in the fourth enabled Benedictine to lead for the first time
• D.J. Dillon coaxed a two-out walk and moved to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a
Jimmy McLaughlin single
• The visitors immediately tied the game in the fifth
• Sam Kerr greeted the new MSOE hurler with his first homer of the season leading off the eighth, giving Benedictine the lead
• Dillon added an RBI single in the frame to help wrap up a conference tournament slot
• Game two started similar to the first before a big-inning put the contest out of reach
• MSOE scored an unearned run in the first inning
• Brandon Gipson lifted a sacrifice fly to tie the game in the second
• MSOE tallied a single run in the fourth before breaking the contest apart with six in the sixth
• Down 8-1, Benedictine scored twice in the seventh and once in the eighth to pull within 8-4
• Kyle Mitter and Feeley singled home runs in the seventh
• Ivan Guzman twirled his second complete game of the year in the opener
• Guzman did not walk a batter and struck out eight in improving to 3-1 on the year

Tyler Woynerowski each posted two hits in the opener
• Frank Greco suffered the loss in the second contest despite allowing just one earned run in four innings
• Kerr notched three hits and reached base four times
• Jonathan Hodo and McLaughlin each tallied a pair of hits as Benedictine tallied 12

Benedictine (23-16, 12-8 NACC) will meet fourth-seeded Aurora at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Concordia Wisconsin in the NACC Tournament
