Softball Lands Four on All-Conference First Team

Post season honors have been released by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and Benedictine University softball landed four student-athletes on the First Team.

Senior hurler Becky Karlinski, who owns a 23-7 overall record heading into the NCAA DIII Regional Tournament, owns a 3.25 ERA on the year. The Naperville, IL native has appeared in 32 games and has tallied 90 strikeouts in 174.1 innings pitched. Karlinski leads the conference with her 23 wins.

Courtney Grasz has also earned First Team honors. The Chicago, IL native is currently second on the team and fourth in the NACC with a .435 batting average. The first basemen has collected 37 runs, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 37 RBI and a team leading 60 hits on the season.

Emily Chitwood picks up her first conference honor. The senior designated player is first on the team and third in the NACC in batting average (.455) while owning 37 runs, 50 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, eight homers and 40 RBI.

Senior Jenna Boyajian owns a .396 batting average and leads the team with nine home runs. The Berwyn, IL native currently has 38 runs, 55 hits, 16 doubles, and a team high 54 RBI. The third baseman also leads the NACC in runs batted in and is fourth in home runs.

Benedictine softball will head to Whitewater, WI this weekend to compete in the Whitewater Regional. The Eagles will face host UW Whitewater on Friday at 2:30 p.m. For more information on the NCAA DIII Softball Regional CLICK HERE.
