Volleyball Falls to North Park

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team suffered their first home court loss on Wednesday night, falling in straight sets to non-conference foe, North Park University.

THE DETAILS
• In the first set, the Eagles took a 3-0 lead, their only lead of the set before the North Park offense came alive
• The Vikings went on a 4-0 run to take the lead and never looked back, winning 25-13
• North Park hit .310 in the first set and held BenU to a .059 attack percentage
• Both teams battled back and forth to start the second set
• Benedictine took a 13-8 lead but allowed NPU to go on a 12-2 run and tally five aces
• The Eagles tried to rally but it was too late as North Park took the second set 25-19
• In set three, the Vikings took an 18-12 lead
• Kaitlyn Estopare scored three straight for BenU, two kills and a solo block to put BenU within two, but it was too late as NPU took set three 25-20
• Overall, North Park tallied 35 kills, 50 digs, 7 aces and 3 blocks while Benedictine collected 32 kills, 44 digs, nine service errors and 1 block
