MILWAUKEE, WI - Taking the floor for the first time in 2019, the Benedictine University men's basketball team saw a four-game win streak come to a close in a tight road contest at MSOE on Thursday night.

• Benedictine jumped out in front early, scoring the first four points of the game on a jumper from
Kenny Bogus and a transition layup from
Bryan Jakobsze following a steal
• Jakobsze scored four in a row after the first MSOE points as Benedictine led 8-2 at the 17:36 mark of the first
• MSOE embarked on a 13-1 run and opened a six-point edge at 15-9 with 13:34 left in the half and led for a majority of the remaining portion of the first
• Down 24-19, Benedictine came back to tie the score on a layup from
Eric Grygo with 3:55 to go, making the score 27-27
• The hosts led 35-34 at the break and scored the first eight points of the second to move ahead 43-34
• The margin reached double figures at 46-36 with 16:41 to play in the second half
• Trailing by 12 at the mid-point of the second, Benedictine came storming back to tie the game with 12 unanswered points beginning with a layup from Grygo
• Grygo tied the game with another bucket at the 5:11 mark
• Gio Calabrese knocked down a three-pointer to put Benedictine ahead 63-62 with 4:24 remaining
• Kyle Graebner followed with a jumper a minute later to extend the lead to 65-62
• Holding a 66-65 lead with 2:59 left, Benedictine did not score again until the final 20 seconds of the contest on a three-point play from Bogus to pull within 70-69
• Benedictine had two attempts to tie or take the lead in the closing moments but could not get off an attempt before the final buzzer
STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine shot 41 percent from the floor and held a 40-36 edge on the glass
• Benedictine scored 38 points in the paint
• Grygo led three players in double figures with 23, finishing 9-of-11 from the floor and adding 14 rebounds, two blocks and two assists
• Bogus tacked on 15 points and added eight rebounds while Jakobsze notched 11
