Box Score ALMA, MI - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team rallied from an early deficit, but allowed Alma to score the final three goals in suffering a road loss on Saturday, the first of the year.

THE DETAILS
• Alma dominated the first quarter, tallying the first six goals of the game
• Matt Moreland put Benedictine on the board with an unassisted tally with 1:55 left in the first
• Joe Spahn and
Mateo Salceda scored in the first five minutes of the second as Benedictine drew within 6-3
• Alma responded with two straight before Benedictine closed the half with three in a row from Spahn,
Jacob Cunningham and
Anthony Leahy to pull within 8-6 at the break

Nic Perkins shortly after the opening faceoff of the third as Benedictine pulled within a single goal
• Moreland tied the game at 9-9 with help from
Scott Ransom at the 11:43 mark of the third
• Salceda put Benedictine ahead for the first time late in the third at 12-11
• Benedictine went on to lead all the way until the final minutes of the game
• Alma tied the game with a man-up opportunity after a timeout with 3:48 left
• Benedictine went a man up following the ensuing faceoff but did not score
• A turnover following a clear in the final minute allowed Alma to score the game-winner with just nine seconds left
