Women's Hoops Claims 18th Victory

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team left no doubt at Illinois Tech, scoring a road victory.

THE DETAILS

Benedictine wasted no time in setting the tone, scoring the first 13 points of the game
• Three of the five starters scored with Claire Gibler tallying the first five points
• MaKayli Vann netted a late three-pointer to put Benedictine ahead by 17 at 24-7 in the opening quarter
• The lead would reach 30 at halftime as Benedictine closed the opening 20 minutes with a 15-0 run capped on a Britney Pitzer layup at the buzzer
• The entire team was able to contribute as Benedictine continued to pull away, leading by as many as 54 points in the fourth quarter
• The game was moved from Tuesday due to the ice storm warning across Chicagoland and played before an IIT men's game

15 players saw time in the game with everyone logging at least eight minutes
• 12 players cracked the scoring column
• Benedictine shot 54 percent in the first half and 45 percent for the game, knocking down 11 three-pointers in the game following a conference record 21 treys

• Michalski finished with 15 points, Gibler 14 and Vann 12 in a reserve role
• The bench scored 55 points and Benedictine held a 52-29 edge on the glass
