• Marian jumped ahead 2-0 with a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the contest
• Emily Vellender and
Madison Horan responded with tallies to tie the game just over five minutes into the first
• The visitors went on a run, scoring the next three goals and six of seven to take an 8-3 lead and never trail in the game
• Horan opened a late spurt as Benedictine scored the final four goals of the half as
Kaylee Garcia and
Emma Redfern drew Benedictine to within 8-6 at the half
• Garcia brought Benedictine to within 10-9 early in the second half, but Marian scored four of the next five to pull away
