LAKELAND, FL - The Benedictine University baseball team dropped a close game with the College of New Jersey in Florida on the second day of the spring break trip.

THE DETAILS
• TCNJ jumped ahead 2-0 with a pair of first inning runs against Benedictine starter
Ryan Miller
• Benedictine was able to get a run back in the top of the second, scoring on a pair of two-out errors
• Playing as the home team, TCNJ furthered the lead to 4-1 with a pair of runs in the third
• Benedictine erupted for four runs in the fourth to nab a 5-4 lead
• Michael Chaffin and
Brenden Norberg led off the inning with back-to-back singles and
Chase Patterson drove home both with a double down the right field line
• Patterson would come in to score on a wild pitch, tying the game

• Drake Berman suffered the loss after throwing 3.1 innings of relief

• The pitching staff tallied 12 strikeouts in the contest
• Patterson notched two hits while Norberg scored twice
