Eagles Fly By Sabres

Ranked fifth in the country for the third week in a row, Benedictine University men's volleyball moved to 11-1 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with a 3-1 win over Marian University on Saturday afternoon in the Rice Center.

THE DETAILS
• Marian came out swinging in set one, hitting .444 and taking a 7-2 lead
• The Eagles battled back, going on a 3-0 run to come within three, but it was too late as MU took set one 25-22
• Benedictine took an early lead in the second set and collecting 14 kills (.417), two aces and two blocks in the 25-11 win
• In set three, a Chase Olson ace gave BenU an early lead
• The Eagles lead never faltered, winning 25-20
• Despite leading at the tail end of set four, Marian rallied back to come within one (20-19)
• A Joe Lock ace gave BenU the momentum they needed to close out the match with a win, 25-21
